When "For The One" first opened in June of 2020, God put on our hearts the importance of using this company and the platform He gave us to give back. One way we decided to do this was to donate 10% of the profits from each purchase to a few different non-profit organizations.
Here are the non-profits we've decided to sow into and why:
Dementia Society of America
On September 28th, 2019, my beautiful Nana passed away from Dementia. For two whole years my family and I watched as her mind and body slowly deteriorated from this horrible disability.
We decided to partner with the DSA in honor/celebration of my Nana's life and we feel blessed to have the ability to sow into an organization that works to enhance the quality of life for those living with Dementia, their caregivers, and the community.
Mercy Ships
Mercy Ships is an organization that uses hospital ships to transform lives and serve nations, one at a time.
Globally, 5 billion people lack access to safe surgery. Children, teens, and adults suffer and die every day from treatable causes, and one child in eight will die before age 5 in these poverty stricken nations. Mercy Ships deploys hospital ships to combat this overwhelming statistic.
They follow the 2000-year-old model of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to the forgotten poor. Mercy Ships provides floating hospitals that enable their volunteer surgeons and medical professionals to provide lifesaving surgical procedures in a safe, sterile environment. They also work to help leave an improved healthcare system when their ships depart a sight.
Before, during, and after their field services, Mercy Ships implements healthcare training projects that teach the medical knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to provide hope and healing to patients long after their departure. They seek to leave the host nation better equipped with the training, tools, and infrastructure to care for their own.
We’re so happy to be partnering with this amazing cause and organization both in prayer and in financial assistance.
Esther
As I was praying about different organizations to donate to, God strongly put it on my heart to sponsor a child from Zambia. Esther has been a name that stuck out to me all of my life so as soon as I saw her and saw that she was from Zambia, I knew I wanted to sow into her life in any way I could.
The money for Esther goes towards her medical care, educational support, and life skills.
